What is The Roof Gardens?

The Roof Gardens is Sir Richard Branson's urban oasis in the heart of London. A piece of genuine fantasia with one and a half acres of themed gardens and unparalleled views of London's spectacular skyline.

If you were told you could sip cocktails in a Spanish Garden and dine under the stars surrounded by exotic wildlife 100 feet above Kensington High Street would you believe it? Imagine The Roof Gardens as a stunning backdrop for an exclusive event for up to 500 guests, an amazing dining experience in Babylon Restaurant or a stylish night out at The Roof Gardens private members club.

What we offer at The Roof Gardens and Babylon Restaurant is simply the most dazzling and versatile location in London for your meetings, parties, anything!

Cosmetic Lift

The Roof Gardens has gone under the knife. Major cosmetic changes have created a completely new look and feel in the venue – the home of private events and the members Club on Friday and Saturday nights - to give the space a new identity including a lighter and brighter appeal.

Guests can enjoy a new dance floor, all new soft furnishing, a stunning feature wall with silver and white mosaic tiling and art work, a day and night mood lighting system and lots more... but most of all it looks cooler!

Butt Out!

The non smoking rule applies to inside the venue on the 6th floor during private events and on Club nights. The main seating area of Babylon restaurant, situated on the 7th floor, has been non smoking for two years however this ban now applies to the bar and lounge.

If you’d like to light up, you’re still welcome to outside in the gardens in designated areas or on the restaurant’s terrace. If smoking, please remember the gardens are also the home to our resident ducks and flamingos which don’t fancy the taste of cigarette butts, so please use the ashtrays.

Visiting the gardens

The Roof Gardens is a historical site and a Grade II listed building which means guests are more than welcome to come up and visit us when we are not hosting a private event or a Club night.

We recommend you check the availability of the gardens for viewing on the day you intend to visit to avoid disappointment.
